Leaning into Emotion

Is it difficult for you to find joy in your days? Do you find little satisfaction in your life right now? What do you think the cause is? Most people believe that our joy and happiness come to us via the experiences that we have. This may seem true on the surface, but really we must lean into each emotion in order for it to gain enough energy and momentum for us to feel that emotion strongly.

Al emotions stem from some internal message that we allow ourselves to lean into in order to build up enough energetic moment for us to feel the wonderful and not so wonderful feelings of strong emotions.

One great example is getting cut off on the freeway. Some people get really irate when someone does this. Some people just shrug it off. The same event happens to both but one person decides to lean into negative emotion and get upset while the other just lets it go. But the person who gets upset almost immediately seems to think it is the other person’s fault for making them upset. This is simply false.

When we experience any event in our life we are constantly bombarded with decisions to lean one way or another. But no matter what, we are all responsible for every single emotion we each produce even if we didn’t intend it. This is the meaning behind the title of my podcast “Handle Your High with Tadayoshi.” We are each 100% responsible for our feelings. It is always your job to manage them so that you always get the emotional response that you desire.

You are always in control of how you feel with the power of your focus and where you decide to lean. I say always lean towards love, joy and understanding, no matter what. After all, we are love. We are joy. We are all so very good!
