“Everything is NOW”

“I am no longer waiting for a special occasion; I burn the best candles on ordinary days.

I am no longer waiting for the house to be clean; I fill it with people who understand that even dust is Sacred.

I am no longer waiting for everyone to understand me; It’s just not their task

I am no longer waiting for the perfect children; my children have their own names that burn as brightly as any star.

I am no longer waiting for the other shoe to drop; It already did, and I survived.

I am no longer waiting for the time to be right; the time is always now.

I am no longer waiting for the mate who will complete me; I am grateful to be so warmly, tenderly held.

I am no longer waiting for a quiet moment; my heart can be stilled whenever it is called.

I am no longer waiting for the world to be at peace; I unclench my grasp and breathe peace in and out.

I am no longer waiting to do something great; being awake to carry my grain of sand is enough.

I am no longer waiting to be recognized; I know that I dance in a holy circle.

I am no longer waiting for Forgiveness.

I believe, I Believe.”

-Mary Anne Perrone

I came across this wonderful poem from Mary Anne Perrone, and it spoke to me in the deepest places of my heart. I have been guilty in my life for waiting as well.

I waited for things to get better. I waited for the right time to act. I waited for something wonderful to happen. I waitied for my heart to heal, and I waited for my wellbeing to speak to me.

What I know now is that I never had to wait. It was all right there within me to have and to appreciate. It wasn’t the things that I waited for that wasn’t coming fast enough that gave me pain, it was me turning away from all the beauty and love that has always filled my heart and my life. I turned away from who I was, because I choose to believe in the lie that I needed to be more.

I turned away from my joy because others were in morning. I turned away from love, because I wanted to receive it. I turned away from who I was, because I turned toward something else.

But now I turn away no more. Now I wait no longer. I am the energy of love. I am the purpose of joy. I am so very very good.

And so are you.
