Every experience brings with it an opportunity to learn something about ourselves and our world. It can also teach us consciously and unconsciously how to react to our situations and environments. For good or bad we are learning machines that integrate messages that we make up inside about these experiences.
The key is to be able to look deeply at what we have experienced and what we are experiencing and to ask ourselves questions that can inform us on better ways to live, respond and become something satisfying and rewarding in our lives.
Unfortunately many of our experiences can traumatize us knowingly and even unknowingly where a faulty message is created that doesn’t serve us and we can react without knowing creating unhealthy patterns and behaviors in our lives. This can create sadness, depression and various emotional responses based on these faulty messages about ourselves.
It is hard sometimes to remember that all of our experiences good, bad and ugly can inform us and help us learn what we need to learn in our lives to survive and live the wonderful lives we all desire.
I remind myself that my pain and traumas of my life have always been the biggest mentors and teachers to me. Helping me move from being controlled by my reactions to living a more intentional life. It can be hard, but it is necessary for us all to look deeply at our own pain so that we can actually grow beyond it and become that fuller version of ourselves.
This is the journey of our lives. And it really can be an awesome one! But we must be fearless and faithful that we hold the power over our experiences.
I am love. I am joy. I am good.
