The Health Of Laughter And Love

Me being goofy a couple years ago at the Olympia with Danny Hester! Laugher and brevity have always been at the center of my ethos my entire life. Whether I am working or not, it’s always time to laugh, especially at myself.

THB:

Our health is determined by more than just what we eat and how we use our bodies daily. Our health is determined by how well our bodies function and if we are free from disease or maladies, but also by how we feel emotionally each day. Taking my vitamins and eating well is important for my body, but I must also make sure my emotional health is tended to as well. Laughing, being joyful and feeling loved are all important parts of what makes up our complete health and wellbeing. A lacking in any one of these areas will cause us some kind of discomfort in our experience of life.

There are so many examples of people falling ill after stressful times and we know that heavy emotional stress for prolonged periods can weaken our immune response and cause us to be susceptible to disease and illness. Worry, anxiety and sadness are some of the worst kinds of emotional stress that can dramatically take away from our wellbeing. I use the medicine of laughter and love whenever and wherever I can. We all have an unlimited supply from our internal pharmacy. Just something small like a prolonged hug, can bolster your immune response and contribute to your health. We are joyful creatures by nature and when we live less than this, we do not thrive. But when we encourage our joy and our excitement for all the things we love so much, then we allow our wellbeing to blossom. I suggest we all laugh more, hug more and think loving thoughts. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
