THBM:
In many ways, people are a lot like food. Some can be good for you, some can hurt you. People and food come in all kinds of shapes, sizes, flavors and colors. And also like food, people can nourish you with love and kindness or they can poison you with bad intentions. No matter which kind of people we all encounter through our walk in life, we need all of the diversity that exists in order for us to continue to evolve and advance as a people. It is our diversity that gives us our powerful adaptive nature. But, there is a common thread that allows us to see all variants in this life as equal and necessary.
We all like diversity in our experience. What is most important here is to seek the “root” as Bruce Lee says. If we endeavor to know the common denominator between our preferences and our dislikes, then we will see that what we prefer in this life and what we do not are really expressions of the same. In other words, there is a common element in everything in this universe whether you see it or not. Everything we experience is a variation of its expression. This universe is unified a field of energy that expresses itself in unique ways. Love your preferences, but know that it is the things we don’t like that really give us the power to identify and enjoy more fully those things we do like. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
