“Love is more an action than a feeling”

Love such a loaded word in our culture. We all use it so loosely and it can have such different meanings to each person. The meaning I have for love is more than just a feeling. Love is a verb, it’s a word that means actions. 

I love my daughter and I tell her often but most importantly my daily actions, conversations and interactions also support and back up this word fleshing out for her exactly what I mean when I say “I love you” to her. They aren’t just words. She can tell you how I love her. She doesn’t have to guess what I mean or even ask me if I love her she knows because she feels it in our interactions. 

This goes true for anyone in my life. I admit I do love words. But love has to be more than words. Love must be connected to our actions and our intentions. This means we actually do things not because we have to prove something but because when you love someone then you naturally want to act in support of them. 

To put it even more simply, love is a description of what you want to do for another. I love you, says I want to support you and be there with you. I want what good things you want for yourself. Let me help you. Even if I am not involved with it. What does love mean to you?

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
