Do you lack motivation at times or the discipline to carry out the activities you have planned for your life? Most people think a lack of motivation or discipline is an in-born trait or characteristic that some have an abundance of while others lack them.
The real truth is motivation and discipline are critically tied to our understanding of why we are truly wanting to do something. Being motivated to do anything is a product of understanding your real reasons why you want what you want.
Being motivated to workout each day, for instance isn’t natural for anyone. Those that go each day and are hungry to do it are motivated mostly because they know what they really want. They are super clear about why they are there. They don’t really want a workout. They may say that. They want what they think they are going to get from the consequences of working out.
Working out for these individuals often is linked to their deeper purpose. For me, I have been consistently motivated to workout and diet because I wanted what all that was going to give me deeply. I’m not talking about the great physique I am talking about what I have been receiving from my process for over 37 years. For me it is a feeling of being truly great at something.
It may be something different for each person but for me it was this feeling of being proud of who I show up as each day in this world. My body is a huge part of that, not the only part which is why my attitude and my behaviors are what they are too. I am motivated to be and act as I do because I want to show up in my world as someone worthy of being called a great man in body and kindness.
What is your deeper purpose? When you can flesh this out and it is crystal clear to you then you will never have motivation problems. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good. And so are you!
