Why aren’t you achieving what you want with your body? Do you think it’s your diet? Or maybe your hormones are off? Or maybe your body just feels like it works differently than everyone else’s? Or maybe you just can’t seem to gather up the motivation to be consistent enough to get results? The answer is very surprising.
The truth is most people who struggle with their bodies don’t really understand what they really want. Yes that is right, most think they want the lean, attractive, healthy physique. But what they really want are the feelings of confidence, power, safety and freedom that they may have associated with that awesome body.
When we understand exactly what we are trying to feel from the desires in our life, then it is much easier to cultivate motivation, create more agency, and discipline in our daily execution of our body goals.
If having a great physique means confidence in your daily walk of life, then that is really what you seek…confidence. And having anything less in your emotional life will not feel satisfying. But if you feel confidence within you, and you are seeing it as a function of your body then you will believe it is your body that is the reason for your confidence.
How do you use this to create more motivation and discipline in your daily habits and rituals? First, understand what you really want. Not just the “things” of life or the achievements, but the feelings that you are looking for. Second, make sure you can tie this feeling you desire to something bigger than yourself.
Tying your goal to a feeling, and then making sure you know how that feeling serves a larger cause in your life, can catapult your sense of urgency to get all those new habits and rituals done each day to the next level!
Go deep people! Achieving goals in your life is all about knowing who you really are. Understanding what really drives and motivates you deeply. To uncover these things is the key to knowing purpose and achieving real fulfillment in your life.
I am love. I am joy. I am so very good. And so are each one of you!
