Faith and proof

“Be Brave and Take Risks: You need to have faith in yourself. Be brave and take risks. You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward.” - Roy T. Bennett

Building a championship physique can be very difficult. Many athletes spend decades trying to build a physique that can earn them a professional status in the IFBB only to fail over and over again to even make the top 3 placings. Most believe that you need the best genetics, lots of drugs, influence in the industry and tremendous resources to accomplish this.

The real truth is you simply need to have faith in yourself. This means you have to have faith in your ability to achieve what you want. But you don’t have to have a precise roadmap or even know exactly what to do. Those details always get filled in along your journey to your goals.

What this really means is that you have to know without proof that you can and will arrive at your destination. You have to believe in the unseen. This also means that you are impervious to doubt along the way. If you doubt yourself at any point then you have lost your faith in yourself in that moment.

True champions really never lose faith in themselves. Their situation in life never causes them to rethink or doubt what they believe they can achieve. I have seen this over and over again in my coaching practice prepping athletes over 3 decades. Once opposing information comes their way, they begin to doubt and look for the validation of their desires. That isn’t faith that is proof. We can only gain proof over our goals once they are completed, so it is premature to ask during your journey toward your goals.

I had a client not too long ago that seem to doubt herself each week if she didn’t loose the weight she thought she should loose. After, several weeks into her prep I recognized what was really blocking her, her own doubt. It made her cheat, it gave her more doubt and made her feel like she was going to lose and be a laughing stock at the show.

So we worked on her lack of faith. By the time we got to the show, she looked great and she won several trophies! The turning point for her was the realization that she had to let go of trying to control her outcomes and instead rely on what she could control which were her actions and her thoughts. When she managed her thoughts she didn’t allow questions of doubt. The best part was not only did she accomplish her body goals for competing, she also enjoyed her prep time 1000X more than she ever had.

Have you struggled to enjoy your prep or body transformations you have tried? Do you believe in yourself enough to let go of the proof and rely on your own power? Being a creator of miraculous outcomes in your life has everything to do with believing in what is NOT created yet. We can only prove what is already created, we can’t prove what we are creating.

If you are a serious competitor and you want to enjoy your competitive process, or if you just want to address those things that may be blocking you in your thinking, then book a Discovery call with me and let’s just talk.
