“Proud coach”

“Being “a champion has more to do with how you accept challenges in life and less how you overcome them. -Tadayoshi Inoue

I think it is always important to recognize great accomplishments. Not for vanity but to be a way to encourage others to strive to become more than maybe they might think they could be.

I am so proud of Julia Ellis a figure competitor of mine. We have been working hard for several months on bringing her body into focus for her first show! And last weekend at the West Coast Classic she took home quiet a bit of hard ware!

The accomplishment here is really in what she faced in her life and still held steadfast to finish her goal of stepping on stage. Especially after coming from a very heavy weight just less than 2 years ago. Our part of the journey was only about 20 lbs but she has lost well over 60 lbs over the last year alone.

Then as she really starts to realize her body goals and vision for the stage in competition she is diagnosed with some serious mental health disorders that would put most people out of the competitive picture. But Julia pressed on!

We can do so much more than we most often think. In general we over estimate our short term goals and underestimate our long term goals. Congratulations Julia you are a winner in life. Your road isn’t finished but I know you will find ways to keep putting one foot in front of the other! Great job champ!
