“Feeling good”

“The most intelligent people have learned the art of ignoring what does not make them feel good” ― Sanchita Pandey

We all want to feel good. I always want to feel good, actually I want to feel great! But life sometimes gets in the way of my intention to just feel good about myself and my day. So over the years I have come to harness the power of my focus.

This isn’t easy to do at times. Life can present a lot of distractions and distortions that make a person think that we really do have to pay attention to something that displeases us in our life. But the truth is we really don’t have to if we don’t want to. Or at least we don’t have to give it center stage.

Most of us become masters at noticing the aspects of life that displeases us. And so we may criticize, complain and talk about those things we dislike the most in our experiences. This is a mistake in my opinion.

Whatever I put my attention on in my life it always grows in intensity. So talking about and complaining about something I don’t want will absolutely make it more relevant and pronounced in my life. So I have literally stopped most of it.

Instead, I move my mind and attention to small things that please me. The freedom I get in my days to workout, to use my body, the peace my life seems to afford me these days, the luxury I get to drive the car I do and to live where I do. When I really look at it, I have a wonderful experience in my life. Yes, I could have more, but I ask myself do I have enough?

Am I enough? Is my life yielding to me a satisfying experience? Yes it is. It isn’t perfect but that is what makes my life so wonderfully delicious. I get to have things to look forward to, strive for and reach for. While all at the same time feeling the satisfaction of my being Tad.

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
