The ultimate goal of my days are to operate at the highest frequency possible, which for me means being more grateful and appreciative of even the smallest things in my experience. It means turning towards love and forgiveness more than anything else. But can I do this in the midst of stress and the uncomfortableness of life?
I think I must do as the buddha says and detach to a certain degree or I must re-define many aspects of my life. I think it is easier to re-define how I see stress and many of my life’s consequences. I can see the guy who cuts me off on the freeway as an insensitive jerk or I can see this as an opportunity to maybe allow him some ease to a frustrating morning he might be having.
I believe there are a myriad of ways to see any situation all of which are true but I will face the consequences of how I choose to define each circumstance. Yes some experiences can be crappy but I think I am smart enough to choose a way to see it that makes me feel good. I can choose another way that might feel frustrating and a common way someone might read a situation. But do I really want to choose a way that will trigger me into feeling frustrated?
My whole life really is my choice. I may not be able to control my outcomes or experiences in my life. But I certainly can choose how they impact me and how I feel about them if I define them in ways that empower me or affirm within me a sense of gratitude or understanding.
I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
