A huge part of what I do is working with my clients behaviors. I change them and help them modify thier perspectives so that their actions are in alignment with their goals for their bodies. Doing this kind of work I have had to really study psychology and behavioral science.
I find this topic to be immensely interesting and life changing. One of the first big lessons that I learned in my practice working with the behaviors of my clients was the understanding that what we each feel inside is actually produced by our own self. There is no emotional content that is ever inserted into us.
Every emotion we feel is cultivated and often curated by our own thoughts alone. We may have an experience but how we feel about it completely depends on each of our own perspectives.
Because we produce all of our own feelings this usually means that most of us essentially become a reactor to life experiences. When good things happen to us we feel good. When bad things happen we feel bad. That is just our reactions. It is precarious at best because we do not control what happens to us in this life at all.
So how can we create the feelings that we desire and minimize our bad reactions to life? Be intentional! Set your intentions with every interaction you have. How do you really want to show up for this interaction? Decide what kind of emotional experience you want to have. Then cultivate it with the things you control.
And the good news is you only control two things in this life. You control what you think about and what you do, that is it. So focus yourself in a way that empowers your thoughts to highlight that with you love if you want to feel more love. Do the things you know you love. This simple equation is simple but can be challenging for some who are unwilling to focus their thoughts and actions.
No matter what kind of life you are living you can produce a life filled with love, joy, and an abundance of positive emotions if you learn how to focus your thoughts and actions in a way that cultivates that which you desire to feel. It really is all in our hands.
