I have always had such strong purpose in my life. But after I retired from the bodybuilding stage I have increasingly felt a lack of purpose in my life. I love working with the clients that I do. I love judging shows and putting my fingerprint on the industry I love so much. But I have lost a huge part of my life’s purpose when I retired from competing 7 years ago.
I keep asking myself what is my true purpose today? I have to choose a path now! I have to move in my life with deep purpose otherwise I don’t feel this life is worth just working to make money or live. I need more.
So what do I do? I will still coach, of course. This is my area of expertise. But how will I focus myself each day so that I feel the fulfillment that I need to feel in my life?
At every stage in life I think it is important for us all to question our life journey and purpose that we each serve. I am in the process of evaluating all the areas of my life so that I can re-vitalize my purpose and my intentions.
For me, I have to feel driven and excited about what I do each day. I must have a deeper meaning to my life’s pursuits. More than just collecting stuff and making more green backs. I need to feel inspired by something bigger than me, bigger than what I can hold in my hands. I have to feel like my contributions to this life are worth something beyond my own life.
I will continue to do my inner work. I am love. I am joy. I am good. I am liberating me each day more and more.
(pic is me competing some time ago at the NPC LA Championships… yes I won. 🙂
