“Living a loving life”

When I was younger, I used to say that I strived to live a “noble life.” For me that used to mean a life that was worthy of emulation. But today I would tell you that I strive to always live a loving and joyful life. This means something very specific to me.

Living a loving joyful life means living a life that focuses on always fostering self-love first. Only after I have filled my own cup can I ever think to offer anything of value to anyone else. So I consistently set boundaries and offer myself love, comfort, compassion and fun. And this keeps me filled with the energy of my being, the energy of love so that I have reservoirs of love to offer each day.  I am love after all. 

I see my interactions with others as the icing on the cake of the lives I touch. I try to add some sweetness that makes my life and the lives of other’s a little more loving, and a little more joyful. I know, I am a bit soft and sappy, but man it just feels too good to be the way I am! 

So I say again, I am love. I am joy. I am so very good and so are each one of you!
