Life is in the choosing

“You can’t wait until life gets good to rejoice. You have to choose joy, choose love and choose happiness now. Someday today will be the last day you have.” - Tadayoshi Inoue

I have spent my life searching so hard for all those wonderful things that we all seem to desire. I have traveling a beautiful path that I am so very thankful for and it seems at each turn I discover more than I could have imagined. And at fifty-one, I am filled with more purpose today than I ever thought imaginable.

I used to think that the good stuff of life happens to me. I know the truth now. The good stuff I always choose in each moment of my experience. Yes, wonderful things absolutely happen all on their own too, but so do some not so good feeling things. The trick to choosing joy or love or any wonderful feeling we wish, a sense of knowing that this is who you truly are.

Im my moments, I am subject to so many things. I can be moved to anger or sadness. I can be inspired to tears of joy or loving embraces. But these are fleeting moments. I love them too. But I am talking about my sense of being. Who I truly am and deciding to feel this right NOW.

So what am I? I know you know. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good. And so are each one of you. Choose to feel who you really are. Quiet your mind, your expectations, your desires and your fears for just awhile and be… just exist for a few mins. Feel the wind against your skin or the sun on your face. And appreciate the beauty and majesty of being alive and aware of who you are. We are all so very wonderful, even if we don’t always act like it.
