The secret to my happy life

"Happiness is a warm puppy." - Charles M. Schulz

How do I keep my joy bubbling up on the surface each day? I don’t wait for joyful experiences, I make every experience as joyful as I can. The key to cultivating my joyful and happy life is all about the perspective I hold on any given topic at the time.

I think of myself like a transmitter and receiver of vibrational (i.e. emotional) signals. I can receive if I so choose, but I am always broadcasting some kind of signal. My intent each day is to always broadcast love, joy and excitement. When I find myself feeling less than I like, then I re-tune myself to the signal that I really want.

Sometimes when I re-tune myself I must meditate for a few minutes to put myself into the right feeling state. But other times I can just focus on something loving or wonderful, like the image of my daughter or what I know about my true spiritual nature. No matter what I decide to do, the focus and intent is to cultivate the feelings of appreciation and joy in that moment and then lean into it as hard as I can.

I have practiced these kinds of modalities for the last couple of years. The more I do it the easier it becomes to tune myself to the feelings I want. The best part is the easier and quicker I get with it the more good stuff I experience in my life. This kind of practice is very much the workout room of positive emotions for me.

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good! And so are each one of you.
