Searching and Finding

Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves. – Henry David Thoreau

Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.

– Henry David Thoreau

So much of my life I have tried to plan. It’s funny though, it’s the parts I didn’t plan that came out and surprised me and that means so much to me today. My daughter wasn’t planned but she is one of my greatest points of gratitude. My career I didn’t plan, but it has provided me with freedom and so many wonderful friends and family. But the biggest thing that I could have never guessed would happen was falling in love with myself after 49 years of age. It took getting lost a little and suffering through some of my life’s challenges to force myself to do what was needed so that I could find my real happy place.

I have lived in many parts of this great country of ours and I can truly say that I am the most happy where I am today. The wonderful state of Arizona! I thought it would be because I was close to my twin brother, but no. My brother helps me just knowing that he is out there somewhere. It was my own inner peace and coming back to who I truly am that has really made me feel so good again, so free again and so very powerful again.

We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

– Joseph Campbell

Letting go of who I thought I should be so that I could see that man that I really am has been critical to my own life transformation. What I once saw as important doesn’t feel so important today. I still love what I do, I still love bodybuilding, but my own personal peace of mind and heart reign supreme now.

I am here to live my greatest life. And for once I feel prepared for it all. Finally! I have been waiting for this time in my life and I am so glade it is here. Thank you to my life and to all those who have participated in my life. You all mean more to me than I could express. My career has been the backdrop to all the wonderful people I have gotten to meet and mingle with over the last 50 years. Thank you.

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good. And so are each one of you!
