What is most essential?

“And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.” ― Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince

What an easy questions to talk about. Cultivating the feelings of love is absolutely most essential. It isn’t the notions of romantic love that I speak, that kind of love can’t exist without a source to draw from. The truth is self love is the most essential. This is the love we cultivate within us and it is the wellspring from which we use when we love others.

When I feed the love within me I have so much more to offer the world. But when I stir up anger or hate or any other emotion within me, I can only offer the world more of that. So I think about, talk about, write about topics and ideas that stir up love within me. And when I do, I feel like I can fly. I am light and invincible. I know this is who I am. So I go to this place as often as I can each day.

I came to this world with the intent to offer the richest part of myself. Not to hide it away or become afraid to share it. But to openly and passionately share this larger part of me, love. I know that it is the love that I feel each day within me that makes me want to get out of bed, mix things up with all the beautiful spirits that I do each day. I just don’t think this life is worth very much if love isn’t at the center of it all.

So this is what I mean when I say; I am love. I am the energy of love. Love is my center. Love is my intent. And love is my purpose. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good. And truly so are each one of you.
