Can you appreciate you life

Do you know how to appreciate your life or even the things in it? Most people think just liking something or finding value in something is appreciating it. True appreciation really means that value has been added. My home gains in monetary value because of market forces, but it is only when I appreciate it in my own life that I feel the added value. How can we appreciate anything in this deeper way? 

I can’t appreciate any person, place or thing unless I add something of myself to it. I can add love to something by taking care of it. I can add value to a friendship by listening deeply to those that request it. And I can appreciate my life by speaking kindly about it, allowing it to move with ease and not judging where I am or where I think I may be going.  

When I truly appreciate anything, I am really adding my energy, my care and/ or my love to it. This kind of value add we always feel in our heart when we look at where we live and we call it home. These emotional nuggets are the diamonds hidden in the dark shady coal piles of our lives. We often must hunt for them and dig them up but if we are diligent we all can have things in our lives that always sparkle! 

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
