“I have the greatest teachers!”

“The way you see people is the way you treat them.” - Zig Ziglar

When I was a kid I can vividly remember hearing my mother quote great motivational thinkers like Zig Ziglar and Norman Vincent Peal to me regularly. It’s no wonder I think the way that I do so naturally today. My mom and I would talk at length about the impact some of these simple ideas could have on the outcomes of our lives. So at an early age I became very aware of how I could control my attitude and the perception of my life story.

I loved my mother’s way of exciting my imagination and how she knew to constantly stoke my fire of desire and my imagination. I know that I have one of the greatest mothers of all time! To me hearing things like “Change your thoughts and you change your world” or “Your attitude, not your aptitude, will determine your altitude” were common place in our dialogues for many years. My mother would be my greatest teacher that would lay the foundation of optimism and positivity for all that I would pursue in my life and achieve. I have so much to be thankful for!

Today’s post is my way of saying “I love you Mom! And thank you for being my mom!” I could have plugged in a great inspirational message but today I am just feeling loving and grateful. And when I feel this way there are two people that never leave my mind. My mother and my daughter, the two most important ladies who have both been great teachers to me and who I know will always love me dearly. And in this world today, these small but powerful agents of gratitude can make everything we all go through in this life so worth the pain.

Thank you mom for being my mom. For being the absolute best mother that I could have! Thank you for loving me and always letting me know when I forgot, that I am always worthy of it. And of course, thank you Kiana for being my daughter. I know you are your own lady, but you will always be a part of my heart and I will always be thankful for the blessing of connectedness that I feel with you. Your smiles are my treasures. Your love is the nourishment to my soul. And your joy and happiness are my rewards for being your loving steward and daddy. I love you beyond words. I am thankful with every fiber of my being. And I am fuller and greater because of you Kiana and because of you mom. I love you both so much!

I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
