“Something amazing happens when we surrender and just love. We melt into another world, a realm of power already within us. The world changes when we change. the world softens when we soften. The world loves us when we choose to love the world.” – Marianne Williamson
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” – Wayne Dyer
I surrender to my now. I live in my present moment the best that I can. In order for me to do this, I must focus my energy on the now. I must be present in order to have the kind of control over my perspective and my focus of energy so that I can change the way I look at things, as Dyer says. And if I go the extra step beyond being present and I also turn inward and love without reason or need of a condition, then I am like a master surfer riding the wonderful waves of this life’s loving energy. The results of my life are more about controlling my focus of thought surrounding them so that I can always find the right perspective or vantage point on any topic that I encounter. Then I can harvest the feelings that I want to experience in every moment of my life.
The change that both Dyer and Williamson are really talking about is the power of changing our perspectives. This universe has infinite perspectives that we may choose from. When we cast aside our need to judge and rank the perceived value of a topic, we then have an infinite variety of ways to see everything. We are now free to choose the one that helps us feel better if we need to. The key to releasing ourselves from the bondage of any idea or topic is built in the perspective that we hold on that topic. Both our struggles and our perspectives on them are completely malleable. What makes our struggles and our understanding of them difficult to navigate is how tightly we hold to beliefs that do not serve us. Letting go and surrendering our life’s outcomes and instead choosing the beliefs and perspectives that empower us is a pathway to mastering the life experience that we all came to this life to have. I am love. I am joy. I am so very good.
